Duncan Montgomery - Attorney/Producer

Duncan Montgomery is an entertainment attorney and producer who has been representing production companies, financiers and filmmakers for more than ten years. With offices in Los Angeles, California and Austin, Texas Mr. Montgomery has established a vast network of industry professionals and equity financiers.

After completing a federal clerkship in the Northern District of Texas, Mr. Montgomery accepted an associate position with Mike Tolleson and Associates representing country music legends Willie Nelson, Kinky Friedman and Lyle Lovett. In 2004 Mr. Montgomery opened a boutique legal practice specializing in film and television. That same year Mr. Montgomery co-founded Fireside Releasing and established vendor accounts with Blockbuster, Netflix, Amazon, Anderson and On Command. In 2008 Mr. Montgomery co-founded Horsethief Pictures with former PayPal executive Jack Selby. In 2010 Mr. Montgomery and Horsethief Pictures worked with Mandalay Vision to package financing for the film Bernie starring Jack Black, Matthew McConaughey and Shirley MacLaine.

Mr. Montgomery graduated with honors from The University of Texas at Austin and received his Juris Doctor from Southern Methodist University. Mr. Montgomery and his wife divide time between their homes in Topanga Canyon, California and Austin, Texas.
